Expert Witness Reports

No one sets out on their dream renovation or building project with the intention of ending up in the NSW Civil Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) or a courtroom. Unfortunately, there are instances where negotiations between owners and contractors prove unsuccessful and litigation becomes the only way to proceed.

Following the completion of one of our Expert Building or Engineering Reports, our recommendation is always to actively pursue a resolution with the contractor through informal negotiations. If the negotiations are unsuccessful or issues become increasingly complex in nature, Professional Building Mediation should be sought. Having attempted to mediate building issues prior to NCAT or court hearings, is viewed favourably within the system.

If the items of contention are unable to be resolved through Professional Building Mediation, our Expert Witness Reports are utilised by our clients for use in NCAT or court. Our Expert Witness reports comply with all legal requirements and are in accordance with court and Tribunal standards.

Our Expert Witnesses are all highly experienced Licensed Builders or Certified Engineers, each with more than 25 years’ experience in their respective building discipline. Our Licensed Builders and Certified Engineers are able to deal with all building disciplines including contractual issues, general building works, compliance with National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards, structural, hydraulic / plumbing, electrical and mechanical matters.
